Building the Vision ... Fulfilling our Mission ...
Accomplishments
During its 45 year history, Pine Summit has grown to become a leading resource for organizations seeking a quality facility with staff members that are committed to creating exceptional educational and recreational experiences. In 2005, a record of 293 organizations (20% were affiliates) utilized the facility and programs at Pine Summit.
Challenges
Pine Summit has facilities that can theoretically accommodate 620 people. Although tight, there is enough room to house 620 guests, one central meeting area that seats 550 individuals, and a dining room that serves 500 people. Further, the current facility does not lend itself to intensive winter use.
Since 1986, Pine Summit has not engaged in any major capital enhancements. While sufficient and maintained, there continues to be pressure to "modernize" and expand the facility. With the growing and diverse numbers of individuals using Pine Summit it is necessary to improve the facility to enhance the experience and therefore keep the current and future guests.
Building The Vision ...
In keeping with the expressed mission and ministry goals of the camp, Pine Summit has completed and received the permits for a Master Plan for Expansion. The major goals of this plan are:
... Enhance our guests' experience at Pine Summit.
... Use the "natural order" of the site and use it as the organizing principle for future development.
... Identify vehicle paths, grounds development, facility renovations, and new facility construction that will optimize the camp's outreach.
